Yadav had sustained a back injury following his T20I debut for Team India against Bangladesh last year. The pacer underwent rehabilitation at the BCCI's Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru and resumed bowling only recently.

Who is Mayank Yadav?

22-year-old Mayank Yadav started off his IPL journey in 2023 when LSG bought the young fast-bowler from Delhi for Rs 20 lakhs INR. However, he missed out on the 2023 season due to an injury, but returned to action the following year in 2024 against Punjab Kings, and claimed three wickets.

In the recent past, Marin has the better over Sindhu, winning the previous five clashes between the two. The last time Sindhu beat the Spanish shuttler was all the way back in 2018, at the Malaysia Open quarter-finals. Their most recent encounter was at the Denmark Open semi-finals, which the Spaniard won 21-18, 19-21, 21-7.

World No. 10 Prannoy then quelled a spirited challenge from Carraggi, ranked 45, of Belgium and defating him, he set up a meeting with Japan’s Kenta Nishimoto in Round of 16.

He picked up a Man of the Match award in his debut game for the LSG. So far he has played only four games for LSG and picked up seven wickets.

Mayank Yadav Injury History

The Delhi-born pacer's history with injury is not new. Over the past year, Mayank has found himself on the sidelines but that has not deterred him from clocking speeds of around 155 km/h.

Mayank Yadav Break Out Season

Mayank made his mark in the IPL 2024 season but he could only play four games due to a side strain. However, LSG have shown faith in him, who retained the young, fast bowler for INR 11 crore before the mega auction that took place in November 2024.

Zaheer Khan, who is LSG's Director of Cricket said that the team has been working hard with Mayank and help him regain full fitness ahead of the new season.

"As much as we are keen on having him [play IPL 2025], we want him 150% fit not just 100% fit so we'll do everything possible to get him there," Zaheer had said.

The Super Giants begin their IPL 2025 journey on Monday, March 24 against Delhi Capitals at the Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium, Visakhapatnam.
